A bunch of us head up to the very hipster Shoreditch on Saturday 4th February to attend the Fare Healthy event, a feel good festival of food, exercise and wellbeing.
The strap line for this years event was EAT, MOVE, THINK, FEEL BETTER! Which I felt was totally in sync with the Fit Girl Factory philosophy!
The festival was fabulous, really well organised, open and friendly. It had fun very much at the forefront of the day and did not feel preachy or overpowering in it's message of health, fitness and good food. The layout and design of the festival, in the Old Truman Brewery, was just wonderful and even at in the busiest moment it was still very chilled out.
A few of us watched Deliciously Ella, speak to chef Martin Morales and were really impressed with how down to earth she was and also very passionate. We bumped into her after and she was really friendly too. A big thumbs up!!
The Fare Healthy Discuss area had some interesting stuff on mindful eating and talking about nutrition facts vs nutrition fiction.
There were so many stalls though that it was a bit overwhelming - so much raw chocolate, nut butters, turmeric milks and ginger shots that it was hard to choose!
However, the Lavender and Rose Lattes from Farm Girl Cafe were divine and actually helped to chill us all out!
The 'Have a Go' are was lots of fun and we all attended a Jax Cocktail Masterclass - with ingredients like spinach and spirulina including in the cocktails.
Our favourite bit was the Beyonce Dance Class which promised to be the UK's sassiest exercise class! And it was!!!
An insanely cool chick, from Seen on Screen had everyone dancing like a megastar! It was awesome!
We had a little indulgent cocktail at The House of Peroni before a final lap and a couple of scoops of sugar free, dairy free ice cream - had to be done.....
We headed home and decided we had eaten, moved, thought and did feel much, much better!!
Thanks to Fit Girls Charlee, Jacqui, Hayley, Sophie, Becci and Steph for coming and making the day so special.
And thanks to Fare Healthy - we can't wait till next year!
